George Henry MONK b1748Aug17HalifaxNS d1823 Served as a midshipman under Admiral Boscawen who captured Louisburg in Cape Breton. At a later engagement, George was taken prisoner by the French who finally released him after his family had given him up as dead. He then served as Major in the Royal Nova Scotia regiment, studied law, and ended his days as the Hon.George Monk, chief Justice of the Nova Scotia Supreme Court.

Elizabeth was the daugher of Samuel Wentworth and Elizabeth Dering. George was the son of James Monk and Anne Dering. Elizabeth and Anne Dering were daughters of Henry Dering.
