It is not known if these Searsons are related to the Matthew Serson familiy, but they did come from the same area in Co. Tipperary Ireland.
This information was provided by A.Christine Kemp Victoria BC who speculates that all Sersons/Searsons are related.

Bruce Elliott provided the following story.  Bruce Serson told me this same story when I met him.

From OLD KILLALOE some soft focus memories By George Michael Green

Introduction by Jeremiah Lawrence Green and some drawings by Martha Jean Fraser - Privately Printed Ottawa 1978

“You come from Canada, do you,”
said the elderly blacksmith.

“we do,” said Harry.

Harry Searson, an Eganville man,
and his wife, Mary Cuddy, were
visiting in Ireland.

Mary’s people came out of Limerick,
the Golden Vale in the eastern part
of the county, an agricultural plain
lying south of the Shannon estuary;
and Harry’s people came out of
Templemore, in Tipperary.

“You’re a long way from home,” said
the blacksmith.

“We are,” said Harry.

Mary and Harry had stopped at
Killaloe just to look around.

“There was this godawful big hole in
the roof, above the forge,” said
Harry, “and I couldn’t for the life of
me see why such a big hole was
needed, yet I didn’t want to show my
ignorance.

“I knew the smoke had to be let out,
but the size of that hole was simply
ridiculous.

“We talked about this and that for a
while, and then, finally, I said to the
blacksmith, ‘It rains quite a bit in
Ireland doesn’t it.’

“’it does,’ said the blacksmith.

“’What do you do when it rains?’

“’I move away from the hole.’”
