Had store in Thornhill and then one in Darlingford (run by his brother-in-law Bob Johnston). The Thornhill store burned, was rebuilt & sold & family moved to Darlingford. Later did real estate in Saskatoon & Winnipeg. Returned to Darlingford to farm until Fred bought store(built 1898) in 1939
