Michael Scott

bc1747KelsoScotland or Dallycastle  d1805Jun16 Dallycastle Northumberland England
The potential locations of Michael's birth is according to family lore
Bob Gale researched the OPR for records before 1855 and in the Statutory Records for 1855 onwards.  He checked for births or baptisms of Michael Scott about 1747 and found no record on the index, for either Kelso or anywhere else in
Scotland, as s/o Adam.

=Margaret Atchison  See page with sister's family
bc1759Kelso or Minto Scotland m<1781
Bob Gale checked for births of  Margaret Atchison, and found 2 possibilities. One baptized
Nov 14, 1749, d/o Andrew; and one baptized Sep 11 1750, d/o James, but neither at Kelso. He also checked for marriage of Michael Scott & Margaret Atchison 1767 to 1777, with no result. A Margaret Scott, widow aged 68 years was buried at Bellingham 1814Dec27
Ernest McCallum has also searched the OPR's for the Scotts with no luck. That does not mean that they were not born in
Scotland. Ernest points out that the records are incomplete.  Therefore he does not discount entirely the lore that Michael was from Kelso. Also one of Michael's sons went to Kelso and had a business there. There must be some connection to Kelso.

Ernest thinks that all the Scotts in the Bellingham area are related but we don't know how.
